Reggie Stewart Wins The Village at Marymount's Franciscan Spirit Award
Reggie Stewart likes to keep the situation light. He realizes that he and his co-workers experience a bit of stress while preparing meals for residents each day, so he tries to lighten the mood with an appropriate joke or a laugh.
“I like to see people stay happy,” said Stewart, a cook in the Nutrition Services Department, and winner of the July Franciscan Spirit Award. “We don’t need to stress out all of the time. We can have fun here, too.”
Stewart said he has wanted to be a cook since he was a youngster. “Cooking is something I always liked to do,” he said.
Andrea Ward, Director of Nutrition Services, said Stewart’s light-hearted nature tends to uplift the department.
“If there’s one cook who could be a supervisor, it’s Reggie,” Andrea said. “He’s a leader and he’s very dependable. He is always willing to help.
Stewart, who resides in Cleveland’s Slavic Village area, has worked The Village at Marymount for five years.
In addition to Stewart, other nominees for the award include Michael Caputo, Dave Meredith, Agnes Szymanski, Carol Allen, Christine Roddy, Spencer Guerry, Dave Meredith, and Christa Taylor.
