According to a presentation on the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition, students at Brecksville-Broadview Heights had 11 pieces chosen this year—only about 300 are accepted statewide. Jasmeen Randhawa had four winning entries and Liz Ignasiak had three. The students whose work was represented are, from left, Liz Ignasiak, Jenna Macy, Megan Beaver, Andrea Orosz and Jasmeen Randhawa.

The gymnastics team won its 9th state championship in a row this year—that gives them a record of 696-0, Superintendent Scot Prebles said. Connor Majstorovic, Tommy Pruchinski and Hannah Fiore are National Merit Finalists. A student can qualify for the honor based on his or her academic record, his or her SAT score and his or her performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education took some time on Monday to recognize a few of the district’s successful students.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Principal Joseph Mueller said the students’ accomplishments reflect the high expectations of the community, and that the students rise to those expectations with confidence.
