Earlier this afternoon, Brecksville Road was lined with people who wanted to pay their respects to Sgt. Dennis E. Kancler, the local Marine who died in Afghanistan at the end of last month.
Kancler’s remains were transported in a procession from the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to the Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, and the city invited individuals to stand along Brecksville Road to show their support. Many carried flags or signs, and there were others posted along the road.
