Costs Going Up for Human Services Brunch

The city will be re-evaluating all of its fees by the year’s end.

Starting in October, brunch at the Human Services Center will be a bit more expensive.

At its meeting on Tuesday, Brecksville City Council voted to increase the price of the weekly brunch from $3 to $4 to help cover the rising cost of food. The brunches are held on Tuesday mornings and are open to all ages.

Linda DePompei of the Human Services Center said the new fee would start on Oct. 1.

The city will be re-evaluating all of its fees during the next few months, Mayor Jerry N. Hruby told council. The city has re-evaluated some of its fees regularly, like those for the Community Center or the building department, but hasn’t updated the overall fee list in a few years.

Some fees, like the Human Services brunch, may not even be listed at this point, Hruby said. This will help the city make sure everything is accounted for.
