Girls Track Team Wins Medals at State Competition
The team also set school records in their events.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights’ girls track team performed well at the state competition this weekend. The Bees ran in four races and earned a medal in each one. According to the team’s site, runners set a new school record in each of those races, as well.
The team placed 4th in the 4x800 relay. The Plain Dealer has an article focusing on that extremely close race, which found the top four finishers within less than a second of one another. The reporter talked to Bees Megan Beaver and Veronica Thompson, so be sure to check the article out.
Thompson came in 4th in the 400-meter race and Beaver came in 4th in the 800-meter race. The team came in 2nd place in the 4x400-meter relay.
According to the official results, Rob Scanlon came in 10th place in the 3200-meter run. Scanlon was the only representative of the boys track team at the meet.
