Have Fun With Acrylics

This class is the perfect way to relax, rejuvenate and learn something new.

When my older son was a baby, I took my first painting class. Getting out of the house for a few hours to explore my creative side helped renew my energy. It made me a better mom and wife and a happier person. It also gave me something to think about on all those sleepless nights, while rocking a crying baby.

The has some upcoming beginners acrylic painting classes. The classes will be held on Thursdays, March 3 through 24. There are two sessions to choose from; the morning session will be held from 10 a.m. until noon, and the evening session will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

The class is taught by Stephanie Sibits. I know Sibits personally, and I have painted with her on several occasions. She paints in bold colors with audacious confidence and really seems to paint from her heart and soul. Just watching her do it makes you want to give it a try. Sibits is a warm and encouraging teacher, and I’ve heard her say that we are all artists.

“I have moms take my class and they love it," Sibits said. "They love the time away to almost get lost in the relaxing meditation of painting.”

The course fee is $70. If you're interested, call the Brecksville Center for the Arts at 440-526-6232 before March 1 to register and get the supply list. Classes do fill up, so sign up now.
