Update, Oct. 19:
The information in the database above has been updated and is now current through mid-October.
Eleven Brecksville residents have now given more than $1,000 to a presidential candidate—10 to Mitt Romney and one to Barack Obama. There have been 76 local donations to Obama and 53 to Romney.
Original post, Sept. 18:
Only nine Brecksville residents have given more than $1,000 to presidential candidates in this election cycle—and eight of those residents gave their money to Mitt Romney.
But overall, more residents have given money to President Barack Obama—there have been 58 donations from Brecksville residents versus the 40 donations to Romney’s campaign.
Patch has created an interactive database so you can see how much your neighbors are donating to the presidential campaign—and to which candidate they’re writing their checks. We’ve included communities across Ohio, so if you want to see what the campaign contributions in Broadview Heights or Seven Hills look like, go right ahead.
The information in the database was downloaded from the Federal Election Commission’s website. The data is based on quarterly reports, and is current through July. The data will be updated in mid-October.
