That tells it all. Why isn't he in Cleveland? Not good enough for him? Too many poor people for him? Is he afraid we won't welcome him (well we won't)? Loser! You don't find it disturbing that the president has changed the US Flag to his own logo???? Really???? You don't find it disturbing that the president can't stand on his record??? really??? We do need change -- on that we agree. But Romney would likely take us back to many of the policies of the Bush administration, which would be a terrible mistake for our country. And as a gay person, no way do I want to see a reversal of the significant moves President Obama has taken in the direction of LGBT equality.

Romney is a rich pariah who simply can’t identify with ANY average American through his fog of lies and network of havened money. He’ll only continue to get booed out of the room by every group of minority and middle class voters he comes across. His religion and wealth is highly elitist and everyone in this country has had it with his kind. We’re telling Mitt he can’t buy this election! Big Bird makes more money than Mitt Romney. Chew on that for a while...I'm glad Romney makes a lot a money though. I want a president who knows how to make money and not redistribute my money. I want a president who does not apologize for his success but is humble enough not to brag about the money he has given to the poor. I want a president who won't apologize to the world for America's success. I'm tired of the whining Sandra Flukes who could afford to go to a prestigious law school and claims I have to pay for her birth control while she's clearing $100,000 a year. Give me a break.

What's happening at the polls is called Obama bucks. I don't want or need a president who fosters the poor to stay poor. I want a president who motivates for people to do better. This election is more than Romney's worth. It's about getting people back to work, taking back our freedoms, national security to name a few. Get a clue Brandt Hardin. Where was your president for the US Ambassador. Head of the defense department issued the order to Kill Bin Laden your president hesitated. His father was born in Mexico due to his grandparents illegally immigrating to Mexico to escape "persecution" and continue to practice polygamy, he clearly has Mexican roots which he denies, unless of course he's making a mockery of latinos in front of his rich friends. And no just in case you are wondering I am not Mexican. Clearly the guy comes from a long line of people who know how to sidestep laws and use people and other countries to their benefit. Not trustworthy in my eyes. But like I said before, just my humble opinion, we all are entitled to one and you don't have to like it or agree but you should respect it.

What's so great about Michelle? She got the education department to reduce the calories a kid can have at school to 850 calories. Well, that may be OK for picky eaters but for kids who play sports (example: football players need at least around 2000 calories a day) or poor kids who may only get that one meal a day ( I know because my husband was one of them) or kids that have to wait till their parents get off work to pick them up to eat again. I am the parent. I have the responsibility and I have the right to feed my kids as I see fit. Not the government. Oh, and if you are still not enlightened do you know that Michelle said that she had no idea how much military families sacrifice for their country on the Oprah show? Now that's what I call an elite. Still not convinced? Barrack gave her a pair of $5,000 diamond earrings. But that wasn't good enough. She traded them in and got a pair of $12,000 earrings. I prefer my granddaughters look up to Sally Ride, Laura Bush, Rosa Parks, or Meg Whitman. One more thing. He didn't deny his ethnicity. Here is what he said:“I don’t think people would think I was being honest with them if I said I was Mexican-American,” Romney said during a Univision interview in January. “My dad was born in Mexico and I’m proud of my heritage, but he was born of U.S. citizens who were living in Mexico at the time. He was not Hispanic. He never spoke Spanish nor did his parents, so I can’t claim that honor.”

This comment is for Bobbi Summer - I dont Mittens knows how the economy works either. He was just a venture capitalist who raided companies, he didnt need to know about the everyday economy and by the way, do you think Bush had a clue about the economy. Romney's mantra about creating jobs is just empty rhetoric. If you listened closely to the 47% video, he said "I wont do anything about the economy" as well as "You just kick the can down the road and hope something happens" and that was his foreign policy. Brilliant! The man is obsessed with getting into the white house, getting there is the important word. He doesnt plan on doing anything if he makes it and as for Ann - well hopefully she wont become the "angry blonde" when things are said about her man that she doesnt like. Not a role model I would be following. She has that privileged air about her.

I love the persons comment about Romney not going to Cleveland because everyone is poor. You need a correction, I was at a Romney event in Cleveland like 2.5 months ago. He was at a company's headquarters just east of Cleveland called Stamco industries. I will say Obama was right around the corner from me in bath Ohio. So I suppose I could have said it looked like Obama was trying to pander to the rich down here. It's the stupid things that people say that make me laugh. I will say its amazing what the democrats have done to this country. They've made everyone greedy and hateful of others, and they've made a large percentage of people lazy in this country. My grandparents and their family were all democrats, but no longer. They were all working class factory workers at Goodyear in Akron, and have become dissatisfied with the modern liberal Democratic Party. The continuous falsification of the Republican Party has only been pushed because they don't want to lose any more followers. I rest my case and am done rambling, as I could write pages of information and the Obama-ites would still follow him. Heck they treat him like he's god, he does no wrong.

If you can find a church to marry you, go for it - you should be allowed to get married with benefits. This is a state's rights issue, not a federal one. I am a conservative, and I approved this message. PS - no one can deny ANYONE "emotional benefits", whatever those are. If you are in love, you are in love. There are 2 sides. If you are lazy, you feel entitled to a better life but don't want to work hard for it, or you rely on gov't assistance to get by. Then yes... You are 1 of the 47% that want NObama elected.
Now, if you work hard for a better life and want the best for yourself, if you don't rely on gov't handouts, if you don't appreciate your tax dollars going to causes that enable people to mooch off the gov't rather than bettering them selves. You will Vote for Romney.

All the other issues of morality have no place in our presidency. Those are issues you need to work through. Our Gov't is collapsing from underneath us, and it needs to be run like an efficient business. How would you like the city you live in to go bankrupt and sold off to the highest bidder, because the govt can no longer take care of its own. Take a look at Spain. Tell them, "Come hear Mitt Romney lie like the man he is, a guy who will say ANYTHING to get elected. See a guy who makes tens of thousands of dollars a day, and pays less than 14 percent tax."

Keith Best

Why do so many think a first-term senator who spent most of that first-term running for another office, is capable of overseeing the world's largest economy? EPIC FAILURE!

While the other guy ran a successful company, took a failing Olympics and made it highly successful as "Chief Executive" and even ran a state.

Obama/ Biden is the disease....Romney/ Ryan are the cure.

Keith, the "first term senator" argument is one for the 2008 election. The President has had almost 4 years of running this country. And, if you were totally aware of the real facts surrounding this election, (and the true condition of the US relative to January 2009), you may have something to offer this conversation beyond misguided slogans and sound bites.

Four years is four too many.

Since there are so many of us who clearly aren't aware of the real facts and aren't fond of the job Obama is doing, perhaps you can educate us all. What is the true condition of the US economy relative to January 2009?

Ed,
The "first term senator" argument is as valid today as it was in 2008. The level of experience that President Obama brought to the Oval Office was so clearly insufficient that it's patently obvious to any thinking voter that he needs to be rejected. Not only did he bring no experience to the Office, but he hasn't learned anything in four years.

MZ....why does it fall on me to provide you with the necessary facts in order to make an informed decision ? I've taken the time and effort to study things for myself. It's real easy if you try.....just close your ears to the rhetoric, stop believing everything you hear from your chosen one, and think for yourself.

It certainly isn't up to you to provide me anything. You stated you had real facts and that others were relying on slogans. I just assumed you would want to share the truth with others, but is is your choice not to. Further, you know nothing about me to say that I believe in rhetoric or have a chosen one. You know not what I beleive or live my life. But no worries, you can keep your facts to yourself, make your assumptions about others, and allow us simpletons to live our misguided lives.

I know that I posted this on another page...but I feel it bears repeating...

The question isn't who you like more or who you want as the face of our country. It's who do you think can actually accomplish something while they are in office? Obama has proven that he can't accomplish much. Sure...that's not all his fault. Republicans refuse to work with him. Unfortunately for our country...they will still refuse to work with him over the next four years. Very little has been accomplished at all in the federal government since President Clinton. This is because Clinton plays well with others (no pun intended). Romney has proven in his state that he takes this same approach. He knows how to actually listen and take/use advice from "the other side". Want a pretty face in the White House? Choose Obama. But if you actually want to see some progress? Choose Romney. Everyone thinks that because he doesn't approve of abortion or gay marriage our country will be ruined and our rights will be taken away. However, in reality...he is going to listen to both sides and no agenda like that will ever be passed because the federal government has more important (state of the economy) things to worry about and that is what Romney will focus on.

I'm sorry, but with so many unemployed and with the National debt higher than ever. Social issues are really not what is important this election. I mean really...is PBS more important than paying back the money we owe to China???

Obama did poorly because he is not a leader , plus he has no accomplishments in 4- years to be proud of .. Also he had to talk to us all without a TelePrompTer for 90 minutes!!! He failed again!!!

I just hope all the fishy politicians are voted out in Lake County such as Aufuldish endorsed Dimora to get an Award for good work after indictment and conviction? Do you smell something wrong with this? They Aufuldish and Dimora were best friends and even did business together?

http://www.cleveland.com/countyincrisis/index.ssf/2010/12/noaca_to_recognize_cuyahoga_co.html

The Aufuldish types of 30 years in Politics and doing business with known criminals is why our Government is Broken and why we need some new and fresh leadership in Lake County Ohio.

Before people call me an Unfair Republican Nut, I fully support Maureen Kelly against another candidate who is in it for only the money and calls people of other cultures and backgrounds bad names.

Republican Leaders Agree that Mitt Romney Cannot Be Trusted

“We are going to cut taxes on everyone across the country by 20 percent, including the top 1 percent. “ (This is contrary to what Romney said in his first debate.)
– Mitt Romney, Republican politician and presidential candidate
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJzUQwJFW7k

“This is someone (Romney) who doesn’t have a core. He has been on both sides of almost every single issue in the past 10 years. “
–Rick Santorum, Republican leader and former Republican Senator
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#!

“He’s certainly beings dishonest about his own record? When he says that he had the endorsement of the NRA, he did not. When he says he didn’t raise taxes, and in fact, there were $500 million in fees raised during this time. When he talks about my record or John McCain’s. “He’s making up stuff, it’s just incredible. In Arkansas, we call it DISHONESTY.”
- Mike Huckabee, Fox News commentator and former Governor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#!
(P.S - Sound familiar with Romney’s dishonest tactics in his first debate?)

Bill-
I don't think these "free country" and "free speech" arguments apply to THIS issue.
Let me put it to you this way.
When you come to the Patch, don't you expect to find people commenting who either live in the area or have a sincere interest in our area (lived here, ...)? Not an entity , group or individuals who plaster the different Patch sites with their agendas, views, misinformation... - both sides, Rep and Dem. Shouldn't the Patch be able to decide what is true commentary, as they do, and delete those, as they do, that they feel does not further the purpose of the Patch? It may have editions across the country, but don't we all think of this as a local forum? I would prefer to have it remain so. That is what I come here to read - not be overrun with "outsiders" hailing us with their garbage.

Sorry lyn but when it is a national subject all bets are off. A large percentage of these stories on here are put out there on all patch sites nationwide. If you want to stay local then go to the other Lakewood sites which allow posting. Patch is a national chain

It may be a chain, but each should stand alone as a local edition, as I think most readers expect to find it. If you want to read national coverage and read comments from across the country, why not go to larger sites that serve the country?
Again, I feel this applies to those commenting on both sides - I'm not cherry picking Dems over Reps.

I assume you are also against all the pro Romney posters from around the country that post on here. Or are you only against the ones who post contrary to your point of view? If it's the latter you are a hypocrite. And for clarification what points in Josephs last post were untrue? Just because he posts in other Patch sites doesn.t make what he is posting any less true.

We could also start quoting Hilary from the last run. Those quotes would far outdo any past primary remarks being thrown around now. How about what Bill Clinton had to say about Obama? These kind of debate tactics detract from the real core of what this nation has to face and decide. Its sad when issues are ignored.
