Natalie Szczurek of Brecksville died Saturday at the age of 18. Szczurek was a senior at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.

Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, is overseeing the services and provided the following information on their website.

Szczurek was the daughter of Tom and Vickie (Dodds) Szczurek, the sister of Nathan Szczurek and the granddaughter of Jack and Helen Dodds and the late Eugene and Anne Szczurek.

Szczurek was involved at organizations at the high school, like National Honor Society, and loved music and animals. Donations can be made to the to the Northeast Ohio SPCA in Parma in her memory. Services will be private.

A prayer service was held in her memory at her church, St. Basil the Great, on Monday.
