Operation Medicine Cabinet Scheduled for Saturday
The event gives residents a safe and confidential way to drop off unwanted prescription drugs.
Do you have any unwanted or outdated prescriptions filling up your medicine cabinet?
Get rid of them the safe way this Saturday at Brecksville’s Operation Medicine Cabinet, part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Locally, the event is being sponsored by the Community Awareness and Prevention Association and the local police departments. Brecksville’s drop-off program will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday on Public Square.
Residents who want to take part in the confidential program can drop off their unwanted prescriptions during that time. Information from the Community Awareness and Prevention Association reminds residents to remove labels from containers before turning them in.
According to a press release from the association, prescription drugs not only pose a danger to people—they can also be harmful to the environment. Saturday’s event offers a safe way to dispose of them.
