National Park Restricts Towpath Trail Hours

A portion of the Towpath Trail will be closed on weekdays for the next few weeks.

Here’s a heads-up for hikers, runners and fall foliage seekers—a portion of the Towpath Trail will be temporarily closed during the day on weekdays for the next couple of weeks.

According to a press release from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the National Park Service is temporarily closing the Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail from the Frazee House Trailhead in Valley View to the Station Road Trailhead in Brecksville while the park repairs the Sagamore Waste Weir and clears brush along the canal.

The trail will be closed from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 22 until Nov. 9. It will still be open on the weekends and in the evening, so if you snap any fall photos then, add them to our Pics & Clips gallery.
