The following information was supplied by the Brecksville Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Speeding while drunk leads to charges
An officer pulled over a speeding driver on Brecksville Road at 1:33 a.m. on July 29 after seeing him swerve and nearly hit the curb. The officer smelled alcohol and asked the driver, a 42-year-old Brecksville man, if he had been drinking. The driver said he had been, and that he had two drinks. He did not do well on the field sobriety tests, almost falling over during the one-leg stand test, and was taken back to the station. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, operating a vehicle under the influence by blood alcohol content, speeding and driving in marked lanes.
