Sun Star-Courier: A Strike Would Stop Fall Sports

Check back for more updates on this announcement.

The Sun Star-Courier is reporting that fall sports would be suspended for Brecksville-Broadview Heights students if there is a strike this fall.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Education Association passed a strike authorization vote in early July, allowing them to issue a strike notice if an agreement with the board is not reached. The two parties have been in contract negotiations since March.

The Board of Education, the association and a federal mediator met last week, but no news has come out of those meetings as of yet.

Have you heard anything about athletics or other extracurricular activities being suspended if there is a strike? Tell us in the comments or email Local Editor Rachel Abbey McCafferty.
