Towpath Trail in Brecksville Closed for Marathon This Weekend
The trail will be closed to the public on Saturday night until Sunday afternoon.
The portion of the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail that runs through Brecksville will be closed Saturday night through Sunday afternoon for the .
The marathon is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants for its 20th race, according to a press release from the Ohio & Erie Canalway. The race is made up of a marathon, a half-marathon and a 10-K race.
To accommodate the race, the trail will be closed from dusk on Saturday until 2 p.m. on Sunday from the Lock 39 trailhead in Independence to the Botzum trailhead in Akron, according to a press release from the . There is a map available on the park’s website.
