Northeast Regional Marijuana Summit: The Blunt Truth About Marijuana

To be held at the Holiday Inn Cleveland-S Independence, March 1st from 8am - 12pm.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kevin Sabet  Director, Drug Policy Institute and Assistant Professor, University of FloridaCollege of Medicine, Division of Addiction Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.  Co-founder, Project SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana)

Dr. Kevin Sabet is nationally known and was President Obama's Senior Drug Policy Advisor. His areas of specialization include evidence-based drug prevention,treatment, and law enforcement (both domestic and international), as well as the impacts of drug legalization and "medical" marijuana.  Dr. Sabet has also contributed to CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Piers Morgan and PBS regarding medical marijuana and marijuana legalization. 

Legislative Update:  Tony Coder,  Assistant Director, Drug Free Action Alliance. Tony oversees program staff, as well as handles all issues dealing with public policy and communications.

Breakout Session Speakers:

Commander John Burke, President National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators. Commander Burke has been a law enforcement officer for over 43 years. He has provided education and lectured across the United States to law enforcement and health professionals.

Sue Thau, Public Policy Consultant representing Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). She is nationally recognized for her advocacy and legislative accomplishments on behalf of the substance abuse prevention field. 

Karen Pierce, Senior Training Staff for Working Partners. Karen has worked in the alcohol/drug profession for 30 years and has devoted the past 20 years of her career to drug-free workplace issues. 

Dr. Stephen Kaiser, A native of Michigan is a graduate of University of Michigan and College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He is currently an Occupational Health Physician and Medical Director of Summa Center for Corporate Health, as well as Medical Director for GOJO Industries and Americhem, Inc.
