Brecksville Committee Looking for Local Gardens for Tour

The city's Beautification Committee is hoping to find about a dozen homeowners willing to open their yards and let the rest of us see what they've done, what they're growing.

Got a great garden? The city of Brecksville would like to know.

The Brecksville Beautification Committee is sponsoring its fifth garden tour, and is looking for about a dozen homeowners willing to open their yards to the community.

The five-hour tour is slated to begin at noon June 23.

That might seems like a few cold-weather months away, but the committee is looking to get a few applicants sooner rather than later.

According to a news release, the tour “is based on community spirit and sharing focusing on neighbors who understand the trials, tribulations, and successes, involved in making our yards beautiful and welcoming, despite the ravages of wildlife and weather.”

“Perhaps you’ve seen the gardens on previous tours and want others to see yours,” according to the news release. “As one homeowner told us recently ‘You love it, so share it!’  That’s what the Garden Tour afternoon is all about.”

The Beautification Committee is looking for Brecksville gardens to show off. Contact either Donna Shirer at 440-526-5430 or Jo Ann Bartsch at 440-740-0034 for more information or to volunteer your garden.
