Brecksville Recognizing 90th Birthdays

The city of Brecksville has launched a new program, "90+ Birthday Club," recognizing seniors hitting the 90-year milestone.

The city of Brecksville has launched a new program, “90+ Birthday Club,” recognizing seniors hitting the 90-year milestone. 

The city is sending out birthday cards during the month of the birthday. Tucked inside is an invitation for a free lunch at the Brecksville Human Services Center for the Feast ‘n’ Flick program.

And the city offers transportation as well.

“We want to reach as many 90+ seniors in our community so if you are, or know someone who is or will be 90 this year please call the Human Services office at 526-2499 to get your name on our list,” according to a recent news release.

“The 90th Birthday Club is a fun thing to do,” said Ted Lux, the city’s director of human services. “The Thursday lunch crowd sings happy birthday and the folks are the center of attention.

“Its real purpose however, as is the Thursday lunch concept, is to get folks out of the house and into a social atmosphere. 

“And the food is great.”
