Pick up something new this summer with this quirky “coming-of-middle-age story;” Holly narrates her witty and relatable trials completely in verse!

For Kids…

Surprises According to Humphrey by  Betty G. Birney
Humphrey, the classroom pet hamster, knows all about surprises – both good  AND bad.  He knows what it feels like to roll around the floor inside a clear plastic ball AND what  a cat’s mouth looks like when it’s about to chomp down on your head.  Humphrey – and his old friend Mrs. Brisbane – finally teach his classroom friends Pay-Attention-Art, Raise-Your Hand Heidi, and Sit-Still-Seth a thing or two about how to behave in school. Recommended for ages 7-9.
