Arts, history and current events: Brecksville is busy this week.

  1. It’s Presidents Day: that means students in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District have the day off and city offices are closed. The is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but there are no classes today. 
  2. Since the kids are out of school, the at the . It was designed as a sledding party, but the event’s indoor festivities will go on no matter the weather. 
  3. Mayor Jerry N. Hruby will be doing a lot of talking this week. The "Conversation with the Mayor" is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the , and the State of the City address is at 6 p.m. at the Human Services Center, as well.
  4. Brecksville Theater on the Square’s production of  begins this weekend. 
  5. The library will present “Brecksville: The Center of it All at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The event is part of a series of Bicentennial-themed presentations looking at the city’s 200-year history.
