If you’re in need of suggestions, look no further. The staff at the has some recommendations.

This week’s teen’s book recommendation was written by teen librarian, Diane Wilson. And the adult recommendations were written by public services assistant Rachel Vaughn.

For adults:

Mozart’s Last Aria by Matt Rees
When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart passes away under questionable circumstances, his sister, Madame Maria Anna Berchtold von Sonnenburg, sets off to Vienna to uncover what really happened. What she finds is a perfect mix of the worst kind—scorned lovers, suspicious rivals, and mysterious Masonic brethren. Author Matt Rees seamlessly blends eighteenth-century Austria, mystery, and conspiracy in this new historical fiction novel.

Sweet Misfortune by Kevin Alan Milne
Misfortune Cookies are Sophie’s way of turning her pessimism and “down with love” attitude into a business. Her creations (fortune cookies dipped in bitter chocolate and containing bitter Sophie-original messages) start to attract a lot of attention including the attention of her ex-fiancé, Garrett. He’s back in town and looking for a second chance. He challenges Sophie to place an ad in the local paper: “Wanted: Happiness.” The date is his, if at least 100 people respond and prove Sophie’s unhappiness wrong. Will happiness win?

For teens:

Zac Baxter never believed his grandfather's stories about the great treasure their ancestors left behind in Africa. When his grandfather is suddenly murdered, it becomes clear that stories were true, and that someone else knows too. Zac must travel from England to Africa in order to find the treasure for his grandfather but time is running out. Recommended for grades 6-8.
