Book Picks from Your Local Library for Oct. 29

Staff members at the Brecksville branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library have some suggestions for local readers.

Are you hoping to spend this chilly Halloween weekend with an exciting book? If you said yes, you’re in luck – the staff members at the have some suggestions for you.

This week’s teen’s book recommendation was written by teen librarian, Diane Wilson. And the adult recommendations were written by public services assistant Rachel Vaughn – she said in an email that she kept her choices a bit creepy in honor of Halloween.

Now You See Me by S.J. Bolton
Has Jack the Ripper come back from the dead to terrorize London again? Detective Lacey Flint starts to wonder when she happens upon the brutal murder of a woman just moments after it has happened. The murder bears eerie similarities to Jack the Ripper’s murders and Detective Flint’s fears are confirmed when the media receives a letter from the alleged killer pointing out the gruesome likenesses. Flint needs to track this brutal copycat as fast as she can, but when more letters arrive addressing her by name, she realizes the killer is tracking her as well.
