Brecksville and Broadview Heights' Production of 'The Music Man' Premieres Friday Night

Local theaters join together for production.

With one of the biggest casts in Brecksville and Broadview Heights theater history, The Music Man begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the  Auditorium.

, , Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater and the community chorus and band collaborated to celebrate Brecksville’s bicentennial with about 50 cast members.

“We said if we’re ever going to do this show, this would be the time to do it,” said one of the producers, Georgia Maresh from Brecksville Little Theatre.

The Music Man is a musical focused on a man who sells instruments, but is actually a conman at it. Through his travels, he ends up in a small Iowa town, falls in love with the librarian and turns the town around with music, Maresh said.

“It’s probably a once in a lifetime event,” said Maresh, who noted the production’s size and quality makes it the closest to professional theater she’s ever gotten.
