Free Concert This Sunday on Public Square

The show is part of a summer-long series run by the Recreation Department.

This Sunday, the band stand on Public Square will get put to good use.

Brecksville's “Concerts on the Square” series kicked off last month, and the second free show is scheduled for tomorrow.

The series has been going on for years, said Kelly McNeill, supervisor of administrative services and special events coordinator for the Community Center. The Recreation Department runs the series.

If the weather cooperates, the concert takes place on the band stand in Public Square. If there’s rain, the festivities are moved to the , McNeill said. 

As of Friday evening, this Sunday’s show looks to be in good shape; according to the National Weather Service, Sunday is expected to be hot and mostly sunny all day.

Check out the flier on the Brecksville city website for more information. All shows are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m.

According to the flier, this week’s band is “Malt Shop Memories,” a group focused on 1950s and ‘60s doo-wop music. Each show features a different band.
