Heartfelt Holiday Show Gearing Up for 20th Anniversary

The annual fundraiser will run the weekend of Nov. 5 with proceeds going to the Brecksville Center for the Arts.

This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Heartfelt Holiday show, and organizers have recruited artists and crafters whose work will breathe new life into the event.

Some of the new additions will include: green gifts, gardening sculptures, outdoor ceramics, one-of-a-kind jewelry, unique glass-blown ornaments, ink sketches and photo art, co-organizer Gary Bernauer said.

To offer that warm holiday feel, the show will also feature music, entertainment, carolers and bakers who will sell fresh desserts and treats.

And like in previous years, the will be decorated and transformed to simulate the look and feel of an upscale holiday marketplace, executive director, John Klassen, said.

Artists’ and crafters’ booths will be set up throughout the community center and the marketplace will be split up into various sections to attract all types of shoppers.

Collectible Corner, for instance, will sell vintage items and artwork. But if shoppers are in search of merchandise with a more contemporary feel, then The Boutique will suit their tastes.

“Obviously, doing a show like this for 20 years, it’s been a real success,” Klassen said. “It says a lot about the many volunteers we have who have worked incredibly hard. It’s a great thing for the community and we’re most appreciative of everyone’s support.”

Bernauer and Klassen are expecting about 1,200 shoppers this year, and much of the proceeds will go to the art center to help fund its classes and programs.

The Heartfelt Holiday show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Tickets will be $5 at the door, $4 for seniors and $3 for students. Children under 12 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
