Bees' Band 'Rocks' the House of Blues

Funky McMunky, a group made up of four Brecksville-Broadview Heights High school students, was among the finalists in the 17th annual Rock Off event.

Funky McMunky, a group made up of four Brecksville-Broadview Heights High school students, didn't win the 17th annual Rock Off event at the House of Blues on Saturday.

But the local rock band represented the community well.

The band consists of Donald Pelc, 18, guitar; Adam Hradisky, 17, drums; Dan Hyland, 16, bass; and Quinn Hyland, 17, vocals.

They were among several finalists performing Saturday at the 2013 Tri-C High School Rock Off Final Exam. 

Noize from the Basement won the championship, according to the Plain Dealer.

The Rock Off schedule shows that Funky McMunky will perform at 5:40 p.m. The winners will be announced at 10:55 p.m. 

Funky McMunky was one of 18 bands to make the Final Exam competition.

The Rock Off began about a month ago with 63 bands of various genres.
