It's smoke and mirrors when the Brecksville Board of Education claims they are negotiating in good faith

It’s smoke and mirrors when the Brecksville Board of Education claims they are negotiating in good faith, at the same time claiming they “had no intention of honoring” the expiring contract. That is NOT negotiating in good faith.

It’s smoke and mirrors when the Brecksville Board of Education uses a blanket statement about raises at a meeting, makes it sound like ALL teachers received a 10% raise, and refuses to clarify the actual number receiving this amount when asked. It’s REALITY when:

  • a small percentage of teachers actually get this raise.
  • the people that DO receive the 10% raise have paid up to $5,000 of their own money on continuing education to perfect their craft and earn that raise.
  • 42% of the highest paid teachers received no raise and still have to continue paying for their continuing education classes.

The Brecksville Board of Education attorney offered a buyout for anyone with 29 years or above, and he pulled it off the table.  Bill Pepple offered poor counsel.
