American Greetings Chooses Westlake for Location of New Headquarters
Brecksville had been named a possible location earlier in the search.
American Greetings earlier today announced that the company plans to move its headquarters from Brooklyn to Westlake in 2014, . The new headquarters will be built adjacent to Crocker Park.
The company had been looking at a number of possible locations for its new headquarters, including Brecksville.
Brecksville Mayor Jerry N. Hruby said the city was flattered to be considered, but that, ultimately, the city just wasn’t the best match. The location Brecksville offered the company had a park-like setting, Hruby said. The Westlake location the company chose has more activity and amenities.

Hruby said he wishes the company well and he’s relieved officials decided to stay in Cuyahoga County and Ohio. That was “important to all of us,” he added.
