Brecksville Velo Sport is Closing Its Doors at the End of March

, the city’s specialty bike shop, will be closing its doors for good at the end of March.

The store’s owner, Randall Ward, said he made the decision less than a week ago, but the store’s been struggling for some time now. It’s a victim of the economy, he said, especially high gas prices.

“People aren’t driving as far,” Ward said.

Ward plans to continue services until the last week of March. Everything is 20 to 50 percent off now. Prices may continue to go down, Ward said, but the selection will also decrease.

Brecksville Velo Sport has been located in the shopping plaza for about nine years. Ward said he does not have plans to open a new store at this time.
