Fall Festivities Around Town

Get out and enjoy these family activities to celebrate the season.

Autumn is here, and it’s a festive season. Nothing feels more like fall than a hayride, corn maze or a costume contest. Here are some places around town for fall fun and festivities.

1. Brecksville Nature Center,  

Learn how to carve a masterpiece pumpkin at this free, family event. All carving tools and a treat will be provided, but bring your own pumpkin. Registration is required. See the Cleveland Metroparks events and programs listing for more information.

When and Where: This event is scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Brecksville Nature Center.

2. Halloween on the Heights Festival, Broadview Heights

The family event features inflatables, coloring contests, kids costume contests, food vendors, decorated scarecrow competition and trick-or-treating. For $3, you can take a hayride shuttle to Spotlights Theater's Enchanted Halloween production. More information is available on the website for the city of Broadview Heights. 

When: The event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 22.

3. Brecksville Boo-Ville Halloween Party, Blossom Hill

This free family event includes crafts, games, a costume contest and balloon art. Hayrides are $1. See the special events section of the city of Brecksville’s website for more information.

When and Where: This will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Blossom Hill.

4. Luther Farms, Richfield

Sarah Luther of Luther Farms said that they have lots of pumpkins. She also said that they are having a fall festival, which includes a pumpkin cannon, petting farm, corn maze, hayrides, cow milking and face painting. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 4 to 12, and kids under 4 are free. Their website has more information, as well.

When: Guests can visit the farm from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during October.

5. Mapleside Farms, Brunswick  

Visit their Pumpkin Village, which includes an extensive jump park, corn maze and hayrides. Prices vary, but check their website for details.

When: Guests can visit the farm now through Nov. 5. See their website for hours.
