Ring in 2011, Brecksville style

From live, local music to fancy dinners, Brecksville has a variety of ways residents can welcome the new year.

Most of these establishments are suggesting that people make reservations, but all had some openings as of Tuesday. Call the individual restaurant for more information about available hours.

Some of Brecksville's restaurants are offering special meals on New Year's Eve, but they won't be open when the clock strikes 12. 



Creekside has a bar area and a sit-down restaurant, offering the best of both entertainment worlds. Creekside will be offering its full menu all day, said Shirley Harper, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and dinner will be served until 10 p.m. 

In addition to the regular menu, Creekside is offering a selection of special "celebration" dinners for $59.99. The dinner for two includes an appetizer, a dessert and two entrees. The choices of entrees include crab cakes, surf and turf and broiled shrimp scampi. Harper said the restaurant only offers this special for New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day.



The Courtyard Café doesn't have any menu items planned specifically to ring in the new year, but the restaurant will still be helping patrons celebrate, said manager Michael Quay. The café will be giving away free hats and noisemakers, and it will offer complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic champagne. 

The Courtyard Café will be open until 11 p.m.

Brecksville also has a few options for individuals looking for a place where they can count down the last seconds of 2010 and stay awhile to kick off 2011. 



2182 Brecksville has a special menu for New Year's Eve, including fresh seafood, domestic lamb and a free-range goose, which people seem to love, said general manager Tony Calanni. The bar also boasts a wide selection of wines – more than 400 bottles, Calanni added. 

2182 Brecksville will still be open at midnight, but revelers may need to find another place to celebrate after that.

Austin's Wood Fire Grille will be offering its regular dinner menu—no salads or sandwiches—as well as New Year's Eve-exclusive specials, including lots of seafood, said general manager Philip Skoczen. Some of the entrees will include pecan-crusted halibut, crab-and-shrimp-crusted trout and pistachio-crusted salmon. Austin's will also has a dinner-for-two special: a 9-ounce filet and a 20-ounce lobster tail for $75, Skoczen said. 

The last dinner seating will be at 11 p.m., Skoczen said, but the bar will be open until 1 p.m.



Zeke's Tavern has a bit of a different option for New Year's Eve: live music and buffet-style dinner.  Bartender Keith Wisniewski said the local group Bra'd Band will be playing, and the $20-cover charge for the night covers the pasta bar, pizza, wings and other snacks, as well as free champagne at midnight. Children 8 and under can eat free, and older children up to age 18 are only $15, Wisniewski said. There's no free champagne for the little ones, though.

Throughout the evening, the Peppermill Pub and Grill will be serving a special menu with soup, salad, appetizer and dessert for $28 per person. Patrons can choose between two options for each course, except for the salad. According to the menu, dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. 

The bar will be open after dinner for regular hours.
