Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra Starts with Brecksville and Winds up in Europe Tour

Hear and experience the music of 100 plus young talented musicians of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra in concert at Breckville Broadview Hts. High School Nov. 17 at 7:30.

The . Then with their regular performances at Severence Hall during the season and culminating in a first time tour of the Eastern European Masters.  

The opening performance will include pieces by Bach, Brahms, Dvorak, and for the bicentennial, a special piece to recognized the occasion. This program, except for the bicentennial piece, will be heard at their first concert at Severence Hall on Nov. 20.  

Their season will culminate in June of 2012 when for the first time the COYO orchestra will tour Europe. They begin in the beautiful city of Prague and along with visiting the medieval streets of Mala Strana and baroque architecture of churches and major concert halls, they will perform in concert in the Dvorak Hall of the Rudolfinum.

Then its on to Vienna, a city know for music. Home to Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Strauss. They will visit Zentralfriedhof, where numerous famous composers have their final resting place. After a performance there its on to Salzburg, one of Europe's most beautiful cities and made famous in music by its role as the home to the lead character in The Sound Of Music. It is also the birthplace of Mozart. There is an evening concert in the Grosse Saal of the Mozarteum.

The group then returns to Cleveland, and perhaps will again join us with their talented group of musicians in Nov. of 2014 in Brecksville. And it is very possible the one musician sophomore Michael Bednarsky will be in his senior year and playing with the Orchestra. And by then we expect this year's senior Ashley Rohm will be well on her way to pursing her music career at the college of her choice and living her love of music in her career in truly enjoyable way.
