Where/When:  Celebration Church, 688 Dan St., Akron, today from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: If you are considering the e-school public-school option, this is a good opportunity to see the kind of work the students of Ohio Virtual Academy are doing.

• SNOW TUBING AT POLAR BLAST

Where/When: Boston Mills/Brandywine, 1146 West Highland Rd., Northfield, Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.,
Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: They have basic chutes for the younger kids and beginners, and chutes with a steep grade for the older, more adventurous tubers. Check the day's snow report before heading out.

Pricing: A regular, three-hour ticket is $25 for adults and children over 7 and $15 for children under 6. Unlimited, all-day tickets are $59.


Where/When: Highland Drive Elementary, 9457 Highland Dr, Brecksville, Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Why Go: Tom Rudeback is the caller at this student dance that will feature the Brecksville Square Dancers.

• BUTTERFLIES IN YOUR BACKYARD

Where/When: F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Visitor's Center,  1828 Smith Rd., Akron, Thursday at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Venture over to the Natural Realm and discover which beautiful butterflies call our area home. Learn what exactly will attract them to your backyard.

Pricing: Free.

• FULL MOON DOG WALK

Where/When: Brecksville Nature Center, 9305 Brecksville Rd.,  Cleveland, Friday from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

Why Go: Include the family dog -- well behaved, please -- and enjoy the full moon on this gentle 1.25-mile hike. A six-foot leash is requested. Register at 440-526-1012.
