Places to Learn about Local History

Local history fans are in luck in Brecksville – the has plenty of places where people can explore the past. 

Here are just a few suggestions around town. Feel free to add yours in the comments.

  • The Brecksville Historical Association has a ton of great resources about the city’s history. If you have a question about a landmark or an event, give the association a call. 
  • Libraries are always a good place to learn about the past, but the has been going a step beyond this year. The branch has been hosting a in honor of the city’s bicentennial. The next one is Thursday. 
  • The ’s World War II program takes a close look at all aspects of that period of time, sharing stories from veterans and their families. The program is held once a month, and the next one is this Wednesday. 
  • And, since Brecksville is a city that has preserved its history well, people can visit buildings that have stood the test of time. Check out Old Town Hall or the Brecksville Nature Center, just two of the spots in Brecksville on the National Register of Historic Places
