Portion of Interstate 77 Southbound to Close Tonight
The road is expected to be reopened Saturday afternoon.
Interstate 77 southbound will be closed between state Route 82 and the Ohio Turnpike as of 7 p.m. tonight, according to a press release from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The lanes on Interstate 77 southbound have been partially closed for the past few days, slowing down traffic as drivers were directed into one lane.
A contractor and an ODOT engineer noticed a crack in a beam on the Valley Parkway overpass on March 22 and closed the road from about 11 p.m. that night until 7:30 a.m. the next morning, . The left lane was opened after placing a temporary support under the overpass.

Crews plan to remove the cracked beam during the road closure tonight, and all lanes are expected to reopen around noon on Saturday, according to the release. Valley Parkway in Brecksville will remain closed until further notice.
