Reminders for This Year's Annual Christmas Parade

The parade will step off from City Hall at 4 p.m. and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will begin around 5:30 p.m. at the city's Public Square.

The city's annual is this afternoon, and Brecksville Patch would like to share a few quick tips before families head down to the popular, family-friendly event. 

This special holiday event is open to the public, and those who are marching in the parade are encouraged to arrive at at or before 3:30 p.m. this Sunday. The parade will step off at 4 p.m. at City Hall and will end at Brecksville’s Public Square, which will be the site of this year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Captain Michael Carlin said. 

The parade will run from 4 to 5 or 5:30 p.m., depending on the volume of parade participants, Carlin said. The route will take the parade down Community Drive, Lawn Park Drive, Brecksville Road and will end at Stadium Drive.

Those who want to get a good view of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony should start arriving to Public Square around 3 p.m. as the city hub will quickly fill up with the people, leading up to the lighting. 

To find a good parking spot, Carlin suggested the municipal lot, and various nearby storefronts. He said to avoid the and as parade goers may be towed.
