“This action will allow the district to continue to collect the same amount of revenue annually has it has done since this renewal was originally approved in 1988. It will not increase taxes for residents nor will it increase revenue for the school district.”

The renewal levy — known on the ballot as Issue 12 — will continue to cost the owner of a $100,000 home $12.66 per month, district officials have said.

The levy was first passed in 1988 and brings in about $4.8 million a year.

"This renewal levy sustains the already anticipated funding levels," said district treasurer Rick Berdine. "We remain hopeful that HB59 will give us some help in the upcoming state biennial budget, but most likely won't know that until sometime next month."

He added that district officials are working to present an updated five-year forecast later this month.
