Holiday Trunk Show at Crochet Innovations in Brecksville

Opened in Brecksville, in September 2012, Crochet Innovations has focused primarily on offering crochet and knitting lessons, gifts and selling yarn and supplies. On
November 16 from 5-9 pm, they will host a holiday trunk show featuring 3 local artists.

“I thought, how can I bring innovative and creative events to the area while helping local artists showcase their work?” said Crochet Innovations owner Marianne Krier. “This trunk show is a perfect example of the type of events we will feature throughout the year.   I am delighted to offer my customers and the public an opportunity to meet with successful local artists!”

The artists featured include, Erika Hansen of Erika Originals, Jacqueline Adamany of Blue Orchid Handbags and Valerie Tyler of Valerie Tyler Designs.  Erika Originals’ work centers on taking what is old and forgotten and making it new and relevant. “I love vintage and antique components such as: maps, dictionary words and images, glass beads, lockets and metal settings, chains, skeleton keys, charms and trinkets. I combine these elements with new components, my handmade glass beads, resin, gemstones, and found objects to create one of a kind wearable art,” explains Hansen.

The work of Blue Orchid Handbags features classic lines, fashionable colors and bold graphics.  Lightweight, functional and trendy are key elements in each bag.  “I believe a wonderful bag that has personality and style should be in every woman’s closet. Our bags are for the woman who appreciates creative style and fresh designs,” explains Adamany.  Her bags incorporate animal friendly materials along with recycled post consumer based plastics.

Valerie Tyler of Valerie Tyler Designs, likes to incorporate modern design and a minimalist aesthetic in her jewelry line. This will be the first opportunity this holiday season to check out her many new pieces that combine geometric and linear shapes with multicultural design elements. You’ll get first pick of her new forged sterling cuffs, geometric gold and silver earrings, as well as many unique one of a kind necklaces. The price ranges also allow you to find pieces to give as gifts or keep something special for yourself to wear for the holidays.
