Gary Max Michal of Brecksville died Friday at the age of 58.
is overseeing the services and provided the following information.
Michal was the husband of Maureen G. (nee Whitlock), the father of Matthew J., Stephanie A. and Brian T., the son of the late Max and Susan (nee Conrad), the brother of Carol A. Chappelle (Thomas), the nephew of Sophie Kope, and the uncle of Frank, Christina, Doug and Danielle.
Michal was also a professor of materials science and engineering at Case Western Reserve University.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at . Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Case Fund (Materials Science & Engineering Department) The Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Lung Cancer Research) or Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
