All But Seared Pass Alcohol Compliance Check

A handful of local businesses are checked each year. Seared did not pass, but management was unavailable for comment.

Earlier this season, the conducted random alcohol compliance checks on area businesses. The department sent in young adult volunteers to try to buy alcohol underage, said Officer John Chrisopulos.

About five to six businesses are tested each year, and the selection process is random, Chrisopulos said. This year, five of the six Brecksville businesses that were tested passed. failed.

Police Chief Richard E. Mannarino said that the person who served the alcohol was charged in Mayor’s Court with a misdemeanor. The business itself is not penalized.

The management at Seared was not available for comment. The business’ doors have been shut this weekend, and calls have gone unanswered. There is no official confirmation on the status of the business.
