Brecksville Police Blotter: Property Damage and a Drug-Related Charge

The following incidents were reported by the from Jan. 29 to Feb. 5. The information was compiled from police reports.

Resident reports damages to mailbox

A resident in the 6700 block of Wallings Road called police on Feb. 5, reporting that his mailbox had been hit the night before. When police arrived, they saw that the mailbox was destroyed and there were scrape marks across the driveway. The resident estimated the damages at $85.

A traffic stop leads to a drug charge

At 3:53 p.m. on Jan. 29, police spotted a vehicle with expired plates switch lanes without using a signal. Police pulled over the 40-year-old Cleveland man on state Route 82, but the stop quickly turned a bit more serious. The driver immediately told police that he was driving without a license, and officers found a pipe with burnt marijuana residue in his pocket. The man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, having expired plates, driving with a suspended license, and for not using his turn signal.
