A 19-year-old Canton woman was charged with driving under the influence after an officer pulled her over on Interstate 77 for speeding at 2:38 a.m. on Aug. 27. At first, the woman gave the officer a driver's license that wasn’t hers; the officer noticed that the picture didn’t look like her, that the car’s owner and the name on the license weren’t the same, and that the birth date she gave wasn’t the same as on the card. The officer also saw that she had a tattoo on her arm of a different name, at which point she gave him her real name. Her license was suspended.

She failed a few field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, according to results from a portable breath test. There was also an open bottle of vodka in the car. She was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, having an open container and presenting a license that wasn’t hers. Her passenger, a 25-year-old Canton man, was also charged with having an open container.
