Brecksville Police Blotter: Drunken Driving and Speeding on I-77

The following arrest information was supplied by the Brecksville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported by the Brecksville Police Department between May 22 and May 29.

Drunken driving: Michael J. Warner, 36, of Twinsburg was charged with driving under the influence on May 22. Police saw Warner driving erratically on Route 82. Warner failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. Warner told police he was returning home from Canton when a friend invited him to Aurora. He told police that in the last five minutes of his trip he was “getting bad.” Police said Warner was polite and cooperative.

Speeding on I-77: Delmas D. Williams , 36, of Cleveland was arrested on outstanding warrants for contempt of court on May 24. Police initially pulled Williams over for driving at 74 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-77 north near Route 82. Police discovered he was driving under suspension and was wanted by East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights police on contempt of court charges. He was held for East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights to pick up.

Speeding and switching seats
: Oscar D. Contreras Vega, 21, of Bedford Heights and Jose Rios Espinoza, 23, of Bedford Heights were arrested and charged with obstructing official business after being pulled over. Police said the car was going 89 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-77 at 3:30 a.m. May 29. Police said they saw the two men swap seats in the car after being pulled over. Police detected odor of alcohol on Espinoza and his speech was slurred. Police found three empty beer cans and two unopened ones in the car. Both men were charged with obstructing official business; Contreras Vega was also charged with speeding and operating without a valid Ohio driver’s license.
