Brecksville Police Blotter: Stealing Decorations and Underage Drinking

The following incidents were reported by the from Nov. 20 to 27. The information was compiled from police reports.

Police don’t appreciate his decorating plans
A Brecksville man was charged with petty theft after trying to steal one of the city’s Christmas decorations from in front of . The 47-year-old man and his friend had stopped to get a pizza after watching the Browns game on Nov. 20. A witness saw the man pick up the decoration and put it in his car. The man admitted to doing it, saying it was “stupid.” He was charged with petty theft and disorderly conduct/intoxication.

A late-night stop leads to underage drinking charges
A Richfield minor was charged with underage possession of alcohol after stopping for a bathroom break. Three men—two from Richfield and one from Akron—were questioned by police at 1:38 a.m. on Nov. 27 after stopping at a closed business. The two of-age teens had their IDs with them, but the minor did not. When he stepped out of the car to talk with police, the officer smelled alcohol. The minor took a breath test and admitted to drinking two beers. The others had not been drinking and there was no alcohol in the car. He was also charged with a curfew violation.
