Brecksville Police Blotter: Suspected Burglary on Oakes Road

Police reports from Jan. 8 – Jan. 14.

No officer, there's no marijuana in the car:

A couple of out-of-town young men learned the hard way that it’s best to tell police the truth from the start. Leonard Strnad III, 21, of Olmsted Township, and his passenger, Tyler Grant, 20, of Avon, were pulled over on Snowville Road for an expired license plate just before 10 p.m. on Jan. 14. The two told the officer that there was no marijuana in the car, although the officer smelled it, and tried to fess up after the officer began his search. The two were charged with possession, and Strnad was also charged for the expired plates.

A woman accused her coworker of stealing $300 from her purse on Jan. 7. The report was made to police on Jan. 8. The coworker denies taking the money. Both women recount the story as similar up to that point, saying the woman had been joking around and showing off the money over hot chocolate while on break at the stables on Brecksville Road.
