Lake Effect Snow Watch Issued For Region

Brecksville is poised to get 1-2 inches Sunday night, more on Monday, but the eastern suburbs could get Lake Effect Snow to the tune of one and two feet by Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow watch for the region, warning that the eastern suburbs of Cleveland could receive as much as two feet of snow between Sunday evening and Wednesday morning.

But here in Brecksville, the snow accumulation is expected to be a little less. The prediction includes 1-2 inches Sunday night and another 3-7 by Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow will be caused by an arctic airmass that is moving into the area.

Its cold air combined with the low pressure across the Great Lakes will allow for the possibility of persistent lake effect snow across Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania.

The snow will also be paired with a drop in temperatures. Thermometers are expected to dip to between 4 and 20 F during through Wednesday.
