Man Runs Out of Gas, Charged With Heroin Possession

Police responded to a report that a man acting "suspiciously" had knocked on the door of a Miller Road asking to use the phone.

A 20-year-old man was charged with possession of heroin after he ran out of gas on Interstate 77 on his way to Cleveland at around 11 p.m. Feb. 4.

Brecksville Police responded to a report that a man acting “suspiciously” had knocked on the door of a Miller Road home asking to use the phone. The resident told him to leave the property, then called police.

When officers finally caught up with the man, they learned he had a warrant out for his arrest and was driving on a suspended license.

When officers searched the vehicle he was driving, they found suspected heroin concealed in a gum wrapper, a hypodermic needle and a spoon believed to be used for cooking the narcotic.

The man, a resident of Spencer, OH, was taken into custody, charged with possession of heroin, drug abuse instrument and driving without a license.
