Man Passes Out At ATM, Then Shoves Police Officer

A 53-year-old Cleveland man faces assault and drunken driving charges in Shaker Heights after he passed out in his car at a drive-up ATM, according to Shaker Heights Police. Facing charges is Quento Johnson, 53, of Cleveland.

The man passed out in the drive-up ATM at PNC Bank at Chagrin and Lee roads. Cars queuing behind him noticed he wasn't moving and called the police, according to the police report. Police officers came and attempted to rouse the man, who then became irate and pushed a police officer. He was arrested.

Grandmother Helps Police

A grandmother provided a tip that helped prevent the theft of a popular game console from Best Buy.

The woman called Best Buy on July 5 to say that she overheard her grandson tell a friend that they planned to go to the store to steal something. The boy made it to the bathroom with a Playstation 3, but he ended up leaving it on the floor.

Mayfield Heights Police ended up transported the boy back to his grandmother's house. This was the second incident involving the young man and a Mayfield business in two days. On July 3, police said he was attempting to sell a stolen backpack blower and chainsaw near O'Reilly Auto Parts. He was also turned over to his grandmother that night.

Too Hot For Man And Beast

A woman who left her dog in a parked car at the Jewish Community Center's Early Childhood Center at 26001 S. Woodland Ave., was cited for the crime. It was 89 degrees at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, and the dog was left in the car for an hour.

WESTLAKE PATCH: 

15-Year-Old Shooter Charged After Firing Pellet Gun in Westlake

A teenager found out the hard way what happens when you do something stupid in a car…and the plates are clearly visible.

A motorist and a jogger reported that the occupants of a 2002 Ford were shooting a pellet or airsoft gun at them near Bradley Road and Hilliard Boulevard on July 7 at 11:03 p.m.

A license plate check led to a wake-up call to the vehicle’s Oberlin owner, whose 15-year-old son was found to be the shooter. He will be filed on in juvenile court for Assault and Discharging a Weapon.
