Police Find Drugs, Gun During Traffic Stop

Lots of drug charges in Brecksville this week: 

Two men were arrested following an early morning traffic stop on Interstate 77 on July 28. The driver, a 24-year-old Cleveland man, was charged with speeding and possession of marijuana after officers found trace amounts of marijuana near the driver’s seat. A 23-year-old man was charged with improper handling of a firearm after officers found a handgun in the glove compartment.

Drug possession: A 27-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and pot possession after a traffic stop on Interstate 77 at around 10 p.m. July 20. After officers stopped the vehicle, they spotted a small baggie of marijuana and a digital scale. The man was also cited for speeding.

Marijuana possession: A 41-year-old Canton man was charged with drug abuse after he was stopped for driving with one headlight on Interstate 77 at around 11:59 p.m. July 27. Officers found two small bags of pot, and also learned the driving was driving on a suspended license. He was also cited for driving with one headlight.

Possession of pot: An 18-year-old Parma woman was charged with marijuana paraphernalia possession after she struck an empty construction vehicle on Oakhurst Circle at around 7:30 a.m. July 28; before driving away. When officers caught up with her, they charged her — and another man — with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with failure to control.

Drug charges: A 20-year-old Columbus man was charged with possession of Klonopin and possession of marijuana and expired plates after a traffic stop on Interstate 77 at around 4:45 p.m. July 28. His passenger, another 20-year-old Columbus man, was charged with drug paraphernalia. Officers found the drugs during the traffic stop.
