Police find methamphetamine in man's wallet
Police found methamphetamine after stopping an Akron driver on Interstate 77 for his loud muffler at 6:55 p.m. on March 17. When he stopped, the driver told police he did not have a license or proof of insurance on him. Police soon found out that the 22-year-old Akron man’s license was under an in-state drug suspension. When police took the man to the station, they discovered a small bag of white powder in his wallet. The man said it was methamphetamine that belonged to a friend who had borrowed his wallet the day before. The powder was tested, and it was methamphetamine. The driver was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia, for driving under suspension and for his loud exhaust.

Air conditioning thefts reported
The unusually warm weather alerted residents to some air conditioner damage on March 15. Police were called to offices in the 8200 block of Brecksville Road to check on two air conditioning units. The property manager had called an HVAC technician, who noticed that the coils in the units had been removed. Police realized that the damage had been done a while ago—there was a nest in one of the units and leaves piled up in the other.

The replacement value on each unit was estimated at $7,000.
