RECALL: Propane Gas Leaks Reported on 87,600 Grills

Have you purchased a gas grill from Home Depot or Direct Tools Factory Outlet stores? Take a look at this recall.

About 87,600 STOK Island and STOK Quattro gas grills are being voluntarily recalled after the company received 569 reports of regulators leaking propane gas.

No injuries have been reported.

"The regulator on the grill can leak propane gas, which can ignite, posing fire and burn hazard to consumers," according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.

The gas grill (see description here) is sold at stores nationwide and in Canada and Direct Tools Factory Outlet stores nationwide from March 2011 through February for between $79 and $350.

If you own this grill, contact One World Technologies for a free replacement gas regulator at 1-800-867-9624 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or visit www.stokgrills.com.

We bought one from Discount Drug Mart about a month ago that leaked. I'm not sure if it was the same one as in the article, but it leaked and made hissing sounds. We took it back and they exchanged it for us.
